Lucy Kienitz Spence Oil and Watercolor

I'm Lucy Kienitz Spence. Inspired by impressionism and abstraction, I work in both oil and watercolor. Through impressionism, I explore my relationship with nature, and Japanese themes such as my Ikebana practice (Japanese flower arranging), and memories of growing up near Japanese flower gardens in Phoenix, Arizona. Through abstraction, I seek to disrupt the boundaries of time and space, old and new, past and present.
